🌟Hi there! I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I am going to guide you to help you earn money by selling online courses.
I will try my best to motivate and guide you to create and sell courses online. We often talk about selling online courses as a passive income idea, it is passive, but you first need to create a course, sell it on a platform, and then generate sales, getting through that funnel. So let’s just get started!
1. Creating Courses💲
One of the biggest hurdles anyone faces when creating a course is that pesky feeling of "I don't have a topic!",and another excuse is like “I am not an expert or master in any field!“. But guess what? No one is a master and people will not like to listen to a master. A flawless master might seem impressive, but they can't relate to the struggles of beginners. People crave connection and understanding, making it vital to have mentors who’ve faced challenges and can guide them through the process. It’s like teaching someone who is 2-3 steps behind you or like teaching your older self. I think I've resolved your syndrome.
The next hurdle is like,“I don’t have knowledge relating any topic!“. So I can give you some hints like, you can create a course on parenting if you are good at it!, you can create a course on playing guitar or any other musical instrument, about the skills you have learned in years during your student life, during your job. You are doing a job, it’s because you have some skills, you can create a course on those skills like sales, marketing, tech or whatever skill you have! You already have a business!
You are selling your skills to only one customer(your boss), think about selling it to others, you are already having a business(selling your skills to your boss), you just need to scale it! So think about scaling your business!
2. Selling Courses💰
The next step is like selling your courses online, so I am going to talk about the platforms to do that. There are two type of platforms to do so, one are like more profitable ones with more branding options, and the others are like less profitable with Limited Branding(Udemy, Coursera, Teachable). But people often choose the second ones, because of their Built-in audience resulting in greater traffic. After all, it’s all about selling your courses not showcasing them, but the choice is yours! But I am going to talk about the first ones because I think you will already be familiar with second ones like Udemy, Teachable, Coursera! So let’s dive into the three platforms.
1. Kajabi✨
Kajabi is the crème de la crème for serious entrepreneurs! With all-in-one features, it’s designed to help you create, market, and sell your courses effortlessly. 🌟 The standard payment plan starts at $55 per month. Podia offers you a free plan with a website, landing pages,a full blog, you can sell a digital download, and one coaching product. But you need to pay to sell a course, but you can create draft courses and upgrade when you are likely to sell them.
3. Skillshare🐱
If you're into teaching without the heavy lifting of course creation, Skillshare is your jam! While Skillshare is unique in its own right by offering a subscription-based model, it allows educators to earn through royalties based on student enrollment and engagement. Plus, you can enjoy 60% of the membership value generated from your content and Skillshare’s subscription model allows students to explore your course alongside many others, boosting your visibility!
Final Thoughts😊
If you don’t have an audience of yours , you should choose Udemy, Coursera, Teachable, etc. On the other hand, you can also choose Kajabi, Podia or Skillshare. I will personally suggest you Skillshare🌟. These three platforms offers you complete control, flexible monetization, robust marketing tools and community features(they are like building your personal brand), but you may need to have your own audience to generate sales. There are pros and cons of all these platforms, after all the choice is yours!
If you’re just dipping your toes into the world of online courses and want to reach a massive, ready-made audience, Udemy or Coursera might be the way to go! But if you’re eager to build your brand, connect deeply with your students, and have more control over your revenue, consider Kajabi, Podia, or Skillshare.
No matter which path you choose, the landscape of online course selling is rich with potential! So, what are you waiting for? Start creating, sharing your knowledge, and making a difference today! Happy teaching! 🎓✨
